"The elfs (Old Norse: álfar, singular, álfr) are divine beings in Norse mythology. Not much is known about them, but they have some form of connection to the Aesir and the Vanir. Freyr who is the brother of Freya became the ruler of their realm Alfheim (Old Norse: Álfheimr).

The elves have been described as being more beautiful than the sun. They are sometimes referred to as light elves, this could indicate that they either have a white complexion, or have a spirit like figure.
