DRUID MASTERS

M.J.COTE

Enter the Dark Universe

“The Universe we know contains far too little material to account for movements of the Galaxies. There are many theories as to where the missing matter and energy lies. The term dark matter was coined to account for the missing matter. But, we now know that dark energy accounts for 68.3% of the contents of the entire Universe, with 26.8% dark matter, and only 4.9% the normal physical matter we perceive. There are theories that say this energy is contained on Branes, close to our physical reality that would account for the additional gravitational forces required to keep galaxies spinning in place as they do...” Milestones in Physics, Robert Bohr.

Out of beauty, peace, and boring lives, the dark and insidious will arise.

It is said, we are descendants of the One Mind,
The Great Gestalt who hides from herself and himself to experience our life story.

Who are the Druids?
Are they Among us today?
Where are the Drudi Masters, Mystics, Sufis, or whatever they might call themselves today.

I am convinced they exist--ever trying to awaken our minds.

The Science Behind the Story

The Story
WILL OF THE WIND follows the story of Eli, a young druid, clumsy, naïve, and in love. He who never completed his druid training after his mentor left to fight in a war against the Kwaad. The Druid Oppida is in ruins. Most of the council druids have mysteriously disappeared. The time is near when the Fae will seal the portal that provides life-giving energy to this world. King Hafgan prepares for war, intent on becoming sole emperor of Fel Arall. This novel follows the story of Eli, After the Black Druid kills Eli’s closest friend, he meets up with Mythgwyn, an enigmatic, always belittling, and blunt old man who eventually accepts him as an apprentice to become a Druid Master. Fearing that humans will invade the Land of Fae, a dark fae sets out to kill Eli and ensure the portal remains locked. Fel Arall is a quantum world filled with superimposed that happen at the same time, excursions into the Dark Universe where dark matter lies, and all forms of quantum weirdness.

Over a thousand years have passed and time is soon approaching when the Fae will seal off the portal to their world. Without the life-giving energy of ara that seeps through, Fel Arall will fall into chaos. Eli, finds himself in a world of quantum uncertainty, superimposed occurrences, and other quantum effects only elves can perceive. Eli draws druid magic from the Dark Universe, where dark matter and dark energy hid from scientists of old.

But Eli is naïve and he falls in love with a druidess, Divicia. She barely knows his name, until she learns from a Seeress that she must sacrifice her life for Eli, if their world is to survive. While the druidess visits the Seeress, Eli’s unskilled magic accidently destroys the Druid Oppida when he tries to save it from attack. After fleeing the burning remains of the Oppida, he meets an old man, Mythgwyn, who berates and belittles him, but takes him on as an apprentice to become a Druid Master. “How long does it take to become a Druid Master, anyway?” asked Eli. “Let me see,” said Mythgwyn, straining, his face turning red. “What are you doing?” asked Eli. “Trying to pull a Druid Master out of my ass—how the hell should I know how long it’ll take.” Divicia asks him to save the Prince of Andui, the first quest that will take him across a fanatical landscape. It becomes a journey of self-discovery, an awakening of the seven druid senses that will allow him to become Druid Master. Little does he know it will take excruciating pain, deep sadness, and terrible experiences to awaken those senses. Will of the Wind is a drama filled addition to such stories of a reluctant hero’s quest, set in a quantum universe.
